How Furnace Buyers Guide works

Who we are. Furnace Buyers Guide is an independent website with guides on furnace costs, repairs, and replacement, plus a free referral service for homeowners in Salt Lake and Utah County. We are not a heating contractor, we don't employ technicians, and we don't do repairs or installs.

How referrals work. When you send a request, Full Docket, which runs our referral service, reviews it and may contact you by email or phone or pass it to one local heating company it works with that serves your area. That company contacts you, gives you its own quote, and does the work if you hire it. You pay the contractor directly. You're never obligated to hire anyone.

How we make money. Heating companies may pay us for referrals or for advertising on this site. That never changes what you pay the contractor, and it doesn't change our cost figures. If we ever add affiliate links to products, we'll label them where they appear.

What we don't promise. We don't license, employ, or guarantee contractors, and a referral is not an endorsement. Check any contractor's license with the Utah Division of Professional Licensing and ask for proof of insurance before work starts.

How we handle cost figures. Prices on this site are published national or program figures from named sources (for example Angi, HomeGuide, and Enbridge Gas ThermWise), with the source linked on each page. They're planning ranges, not quotes. Your price depends on your home, your equipment, and the contractor.

Safety. Our troubleshooting guides cover safe checks only. If you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas company from outside. In Utah, that's Enbridge Gas, or call 911.
